api.video charges you per minute of video stored and watched.

Hosting Minutes

We measure as hosting minutes, the minutes of video you store with us, rounded to the next minute at the end of the day. Example:

  1. You have 5 videos of 10min each stored with us (= 50 hosting minutes)

  2. You have 1 live stream of 1hr (=60 hosting minutes)

β‡’ This results to 110 hosting minutes

Delivery Minutes

We measure as delivery minutes, the minutes of video that have become available for viewing to a viewer. For VOD we load segments of 4 seconds to the player, while for Live stream segments of 2 seconds to the player. Example:

  1. You have 1 video of 30 seconds that has loaded to 1 viewer and it is watched in its entirety ( = 1.5 delivery minutes)

  2. You have 1 video of 30 seconds that has loaded to 1 viewer and only the first 30 seconds are watched (= 30 seconds + 4 seconds = 0.5666 delivery minutes)

  3. You have 1 live stream of 10 minutes that has loaded to 10 viewers, 5 viewers dropped half way and the remaining 5 stayed till the end of the stream (= 5 viewers * 5 minutes + 2 seconds + 5 viewers * 10 minutes = 75.0333 delivery minutes)

β‡’ This results to 78 delivery minutes

You can follow at all times any of these minutes consumed in your Dashboard.
